Pink Ribbon Smile Walk

Sunday morning I took part in charity walk for breast cancer campaign with Naoko and proudly completed 10km walk all around Kobe.

I didn't know that breast cancer is indeed the most common cancer among Japanese females; today in Japan one in twenty women develops breast cancer and its death rate has continued to rise unlike its decrease in US and Europe. Indeed I remember so well that we even learned about breast cancer at high school in Australia but here in Japan we seldom had chance to know what it is until recently ( though some trashy fashion magazines seem to be misunderstanding its concept and utilizing pink ribbon for their marketing purposes).

We always want to believe in our own health and often don't connect ourselves with cancer and such until we actually diagnosed as its patients. But who knows that I won't be the one in twenty women?

Just a little awareness and action; it's that simple to save our life and happiness!

Great to hear you are getting involved in some charity work, Mihiro. Fun run/walks for charity are always good things to be a part of. From the photos it looks like it was a beautiful day for it too.

P.S. Thanks for wishing me luck for my exam. It went well.
